The Jeffrey Epstein scandal "is not a hoax," Johnson, the speaker of the US House of Representatives, said in an interview released on Thursday, as the case continues to cause turmoil within President Trump's party. The frenzy among Trump supporters over the Epstein case has prompted criticism from Trump, who has called it an "Epstein hoax" and has unsuccessfully urged his fellow Republicans to stop focusing on the issue. "It's not a hoax. Of course not," Johnson said in an interview with the media. "We want total transparency. We want everyone who has anything to do with Epstein to be brought to justice as soon as possible," Johnson said. "We want to put the full weight of the law on their heads."
