Tether Assists US Authorities in Freezing $1.60 million in Terrorist Financing Related Funds

According to the official website announcement, Tether announced to assist US authorities in freezing and reissuing approximately $1.60 million of USDT related to the Gaza financial network BuyCash, which is involved in terrorist financing activities. This move is part of a larger civil forfeiture case by the Department of Justice. To date, Tether has frozen more than 5,000 wallets and assisted more than 275 law enforcement agencies around the world in seizing more than $2.90 billion of USDT. Recently, Tether also assisted Brazilian authorities in freezing $6.20 million of funds and helped the Department of Justice seize $225 million of USDT.
