Consensys plans to lay off 49 employees, accounting for about 7% of the total workforce.

Consensys, the software company founded by Ethereum co-founder Joseph Rubin, plans to cut 49 jobs, or about 7 per cent of its workforce, according to Bloomberg. A company spokesperson said the restructuring was aimed at boosting overall profitability. Consensys recently acquired a start-up with about 30 employees, who will remain with the company. At the same time, the company still plans to continue hiring in other positions. Consensys' largest office is located in Brooklyn.
