Data released by Coinbase product director ConorGrogan on Sunday shows that 913,111 Ethereum (ETH) have been permanently lost due to user operation errors and code vulnerabilities, accounting for 0.76% of the current circulation. If you include the 5.30 million ETH destroyed by EIP-1559 in 2021 Ethereum Improvement Proposal, the actual loss has reached 6.20 million ($23.40 billion), and the proportion rises to 5%. ConorGrogan emphasized that this $3.40 billion is only permanently locked ETH, and does not include the loss of private keys and other accessible but actual losses.
