The Office of the National Export Control Coordination Mechanism has deployed a special project to combat the smuggling of strategic minerals

On July 19, 2025, the Office of the National Export Control Coordination Mechanism organized the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of State Security, the General Administration of Customs, the State Post Bureau, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuratorate and other units to hold a special project to promote the fight against the smuggling of strategic minerals in Nanning, Guangxi. The meeting called for all relevant departments to continue to carry out in-depth special projects and further strengthen law enforcement; study and establish a joint law enforcement coordination center for export control of dual-use items; strictly and quickly investigate and handle major illegal and criminal cases in accordance with the law, and publish a number of typical law enforcement judicial cases in a timely manner; resolutely prevent detour exports, and include foreign end users who evade national export control measures in the export control list; formulate and issue guidelines for strategic mineral compliance export; guide and warn export enterprises to do due diligence, and strictly prevent related items from being illegally used for military users or military purposes.
