According to the 216th Ethereum Execution Layer Core Developer Conference (ACDE) meeting notes summarized by Christine Kim, today's developers' decision to remove EIP 7907 from the Fusaka upgrade means that there will be no changes to Ethereum's smart contract code size limit for the foreseeable future.
A version of this EIP may be reproposed for the Glamsterdam hard fork, but there is no guarantee that it will be included in the next hard fork.
In addition, Tim Beiko shared the possible timeline for Fusaka to go live on the mainnet at the meeting. The proposed timeline is as follows: 1. Client side public testnet release: the week of August 25th; 2. First public testnet upgrade: September 22nd to October 3rd; 3. Second testnet upgrade: October 6th to 10th.; Additionally, developers plan to launch Fusaka Devnet-3 on July 23rd.
Developers have generally agreed on what to plan for the Glamsterdam hard fork, but they are still discussing several key questions about how the fork, which includes a "sponsor-builder separation mechanism" and a "block-level access list", will be implemented.
After further consultation with the wider Ethereum community, the developers plan to make a final decision on the core code changes in the Glamsterdam upgrade within the next two to four weeks.
