According to Xinhua News Agency, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zakharova said at a regular press conference on the 17th that the Russian delegation is willing to travel to Istanbul, Turkey for the third round of negotiations with Ukraine. Zakharova said that the Russian-Ukrainian talks have been "put on hold" because of the Ukrainian side, and "the Ukrainian side is either avoiding negotiations or is not ready." She said that Ukraine has not sent any signal that it is ready for a new round of negotiations with Russia. Responding to US President Donald Trump's request for Russia and Ukraine to reach an agreement within 50 days, Zakharova said that Russia has encountered an unprecedented number of various sanctions and restrictions, and Russia has become "accustomed to the threat of new sanctions." Ms. Zakharova also said that as Russian troops advanced on the battlefield, the possibility of Ukraine taking "terrorist measures" to retaliate against Russia was increasing.
