Canadian PM: "There's not a lot of evidence" that the US is willing to make a deal without tariffs

Canadian Prime Minister Carney said on July 15 local time that US President Donald Trump appears to be obsessed with tariffs, and any trade deal with the United States may include accepting a certain percentage of tariffs on exports. Carney said that there is "not much evidence" that the United States is willing to reach an agreement without imposing some tariffs. He believes that most countries may have to accept some degree of benchmark tariffs imposed by the United States on their goods. Carney also revealed that negotiations with the United States are expected to "intensify" in the coming weeks.
