On July 15, NVIDIA (NVDA. O) said in a blog post that it plans to resume sales of the H20 in China after receiving a license guarantee from the U.S. government. The company's CEO, Huang Renxun, met with U.S. President Donald Trump last week and will attend the third China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo in Beijing this week. Huang Renxun told NVIDIA customers that the company is applying for new H20 sales licenses in China, which are expected to be approved, and hopes to resume deliveries as soon as possible. The H20 is a low-power version of NVIDIA's artificial intelligence chip designed specifically for China. It was born to comply with earlier U.S. restrictions on artificial intelligence hardware sales. But the Trump administration expanded the controls in April to include H20-class chips as well. Huang Renxun has previously said that Nvidia will lose billions of dollars due to unsold H20 inventory.
