According to Arkham Intelligence, El Salvador currently holds more than 6,237 bitcoins, worth a total of more than $762 million. The news comes against the backdrop of bitcoin prices breaking through $122,000 on Sunday, once again proving the Bukele government's decision to make bitcoin a legal tender in 2021, despite facing strong criticism and warnings from institutions such as the international monetary fund (IMF) at the time.
