NATO Secretary-General Rutte will meet with US President Donald Trump in Washington next week

NATO Secretary-General Rutte will visit Washington, D.C. on Monday, July 14 and Tuesday, July 15, where he will meet with U.S. President Trump, U.S. Secretary of State Rubio and Defense Secretary Hagerseth, NATO said in a press release. The press release did not immediately state the reason for Rutte's visit to the U.S., but Trump recently said the U.S. is willing to provide arms to Ukraine through NATO, and he will make a "major announcement" on Monday. So far, the Trump administration has only shipped weapons to Ukraine authorized by former President Joe Biden, a staunch supporter of Kiev. (Kim X)
