Wang Yi: China and the United States should strengthen contact, prevent misjudgment, manage differences, and expand cooperation

On July 12, 2025, after attending the annual series of foreign ministers' meetings on East Asia cooperation in Kuala Lumpur, Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister, gave an interview to Chinese media. On meeting with US Secretary of State Rubio during the meeting, Wang Yi said: It is an international practice to hold bilateral meetings on multilateral occasions. The series of foreign ministers' meetings held in Kuala Lumpur provided a platform for China-US contacts.
