Analysis: Trump's pick for the next Federal Reserve chairperson will not depart from the norm

A strategist at Pimco, the world's largest bond manager, said Mr. Trump was likely to follow the traditional approach in choosing the next Fed chairperson. Andrew Balls, global chief investment officer for fixed income at Pimco, said the rumored candidates "all look like very suitable candidates". Although Mr. Powell's term does not end until May, Mr. Trump has said he has multiple candidates in mind. Popular candidates include Kevin Warsh, Kevin Hasset and current Fed governor Christopher Waller, who was formally nominated by Mr. Trump in 2020. Treasury secretary Scott Bessant is also under consideration.
