U.S. President Donald Trump will use presidential authority to deliver weapons to Kiev for the first time since taking office, two sources said Thursday, a move that signals his renewed interest in defending Ukraine. Trump's team will pick weapons from U.S. stockpiles to ship to Ukraine under presidential authorization, the sources said, which could be worth about $300 million. The aid package could include defensive "Patriot" missiles and offensive medium-range rockets, but no decision has been made on specific equipment, the sources said. That will be announced at a meeting on Thursday, one of the sources said. So far, the Trump administration has only provided Ukraine with weapons authorized by former President Joe Biden.
