Trump's tariffs are hanging in the balance, and U.S. bond yields are leveling off after consecutive increases

US Treasury yields were largely flat after five straight sessions of gains as markets waited to see how likely Mr. Trump's tariff threats were to actually materialise and what impact they would have on inflation and economic growth. The Federal Reserve is due to release meeting notes at 2pm ET (2am Beijing time on Thursday). Meanwhile, the White House is pressuring the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates, and Trump is also looking for a replacement for Powell as chairperson of the Federal Reserve. In addition, an auction of 10-year Treasury bonds will be held at 1pm ET, the previous day of weak demand for three-year Treasury auctions.
