According to Decrypt, New Zealand has banned all cryptocurrency ATMs and capped international cash transfers at $5,000 to combat money laundering and criminal financing. As part of a sweeping reform aimed at curbing money laundering and illicit financial flows, the New Zealand government has announced that it will close all cryptocurrency ATMs in the country and place a $5,000 cap on international cash transfers.
New Zealand Assistant Attorney General Nicole McKee released the government's latest anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing regime reform plan in a statement on Wednesday.
