Pakistan Establishes Digital Asset Regulatory Authority

The Federal Government of Pakistan has established the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA) to oversee the digital asset industry in the country. PVARA will act as an independent regulator responsible for licensing, supervising and regulating virtual asset service providers while ensuring compliance with international standards, including following the relevant guidelines of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
