The latest figures, shared by Circle executive Patrick Hansen, show that the European Union has now issued MiCA licences to 53 institutions, allowing them to "passport through" the 30 countries in the European Economic Area, without having to apply for services one by one.
Among them, 14 companies have been approved to issue stablecoins or electronic money tokens (EMTs), including Circle, Crypto.com, Societe Generale, Stablemint, Quantoz, and StablR; Tether, as a USDT issuer, has not yet obtained a compliance license and is not included in the list.
The other 39 approved crypto asset service providers (CASPs) include BBVA, Robinhood, Coinbase, Kraken and OKX, among others. Binance is not on the list.
