Blockchain data shows that an investor holding $2.20 million worth of Ethereum began transferring the tokens on Monday after idling them for nearly 10 years. The holder originally received the 900 ETH in 2015, when Ethereum was priced at less than 50 cents.
These are "genesis coins", the digital tokens born in the first block of Ethereum. Early contributors and developers of the project received these "pre-mined" ETH - worth only a few cents at the time - before Ethereum officially enabled trading.
