Sources: Israel's judgment on Trump may give the green light for new military action against Iraq

Israel is preparing for a possible restart of Iran's nuclear programme, according to two people familiar with the matter who told the AXIOS website that its senior officials believe US President Donald Trump may approve a new round of strikes by Israeli forces. The way forward for the Iranian nuclear crisis will be a major topic when Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have dinner at the White House on Monday night local time. The Israeli side said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hopes to reach a consensus with the US on future US-Iran nuclear negotiations and "red lines" that could trigger military action. Ron Dermer, a senior adviser to the Israeli Prime Minister, said in a closed-door briefing that his recent trip to Washington gave a clear signal that the Trump administration would support Israel in launching a new strike against Iran under certain circumstances. The sources pointed out that the trigger scenarios include: Iran's attempt to transfer highly enriched uranium from the damaged facilities at Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan, and Tehran's efforts to rebuild its nuclear program (especially its uranium enrichment facilities).
