In response to controversy over the launch of a 10-year "golden visa" scheme for TON pledgers in the UAE, the TON Foundation has announced the recruitment of a vice president of marketing to develop a global promotion strategy to attract new users. Previously, the scheme required investors to pledge $100,000 to TON for three years and pay a $35,000 processing fee. The original claim was that they could receive visa and pledge proceeds, but the UAE government clarified that it did not authorize or cooperate.
