Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey has launched bitchat, a decentralized peer-to-peer chat application that runs on a Bluetooth low energy (BLE) mesh network, supports transient encrypted message transmission, completely offline chat, and has the ability to communicate in censorship and disconnection environments. Messages can be relayed through nodes, up to 300 meters away.
