The World Bank cut its forecast for global GDP growth in 2025 by 0.4 percentage points to 2.3 percent, the lowest in five years. That would be the weakest growth in 17 years, with the exception of 2008 and 2020. In addition, the U.S. economy is expected to grow 1.4 percent this year, down from an earlier forecast of 2.3 percent. Global growth is expected to average 2.5 percent in the first seven years of the century, the slowest decade since the 1960s. Overall, the World Bank cut its forecasts for about 70 percent of economies, indicating a worsening global economic outlook. (The Kobeissi Letter)
