On April 30th, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced today that in the first quarter of 2024, the number of domestic tourists 1.419 billion, an increase of 203 million over the same period of the previous year, an increase of 16.7% year-on-year. Among them, the number of domestic tourists of urban residents 1.077 billion, an increase of 14.1% year-on-year; the number of domestic tourists of rural residents 342 million, an increase of 25.7% year-on-year. The total expenditure of domestic tourists on travel was 1.52 trillion yuan, an increase of 220 billion yuan over the previous year, an increase of 17.0% year-on-year.
