Bank of America clients are pulling money out of U.S. stocks at the fastest pace in 10 weeks, reducing their risk exposure, according to Golden Ten Data. The S & P 500 Index posted its best quarterly performance since 2023 through the end of June. All major client groups, including institutions, retail investors and hedge funds, pulled a combined $1.30 billion from U.S. stocks last week, Bank of America quantitative strategists including Jill Carey Hall wrote in a report released Tuesday. The risk aversion comes amid growing uncertainty over whether the rally, which has helped the S & P 500 rebound from tariff-related lows in April, is hovering near its highest overbought level since July 2024.
