According to Cointelegraph, the US Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) on Tuesday announced sanctions against Russian "bulletproof escrow" service provider Aeza Group, while freezing about $350,000 in assets in a crypto wallet associated with it. The company is accused of providing specialized servers and computer infrastructure for ransomware and information thieves. The sanctions also target several Russian and British companies, as well as four Russian executives. Blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis said the sanctioned Tron blockchain address is Aeza's managed wallet, which processes payments and transfers funds to various crypto exchanges. The move represents an important step in the US government's fight against cybercrime infrastructure.
