On July 2nd, Trump's proposed $3.30 trillion "Big and Beautiful Act" passed the Senate on Tuesday, and senators passed the bill by a 51-50 vote. Three of the 53 Republicans in the Senate voted against it along with Democrats, and Vice President Vance cast a decisive vote. The bill is currently before the House of Representatives, which is expected to vote on the bill this week, but success is not guaranteed. With joint opposition from Democrats, the bill can only pass if a small number of House Republicans vote against it.
