Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Conditions to resume the import of aquatic products in some parts of Japan

On June 30, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning presided over a regular press conference. Mao Ning said that in accordance with Chinese laws and regulations and international trade rules, based on scientific evidence such as monitoring data and prudent analysis and research conducted by all parties so far, the Chinese competent authorities issued an announcement yesterday that conditions are in place to resume the import of aquatic products from some parts of Japan that meet Chinese regulations. The Chinese competent authorities will continue to strengthen supervision measures to ensure the food safety of the people. Once any risks are discovered, necessary import restrictions will be taken immediately in accordance with the law.
