Meta is seeking to raise $29 billion to fund its full push into artificial intelligence, according to the Financial Times, by turning to private capital firms to fund the construction of data centres in the US. Talks with private credit investors have progressed, with several large institutions including Apollo Global Management, KKR, Brookfield, Carlyle and Pimco involved, according to people familiar with the matter. Meta hopes to raise $3 billion of equity from them and then $26 billion of debt. But the company is discussing how to structure a large debt raise as it considers options to complete one of the largest private financings of its kind.
