Citibank sued for allowing $20 million crypto "romance scam" scam

A man in the US is suing Citibank for failing to stop a $20m crypto "romance scam" scheme. The plaintiff alleges that he met fraudsters through Facebook and was defrauded of money after investing in OpenrarityPro, an NFT platform. Citi is accused of handling 12 suspicious transfers totaling about $4m and failing to identify red flags. The complaint alleges that the bank grossly failed in monitoring and censorship. The case has been filed in federal court in Manhattan, New York.
