According to people familiar with the matter, the European Union Commission is about to issue guidance clarifying that stablecoins issued by companies holding European Union licenses can be used interchangeably (interoperable and fungible) with similar tokens issued by their non-European Union subsidiaries under the framework of the Crypto Asset Markets Regulation (MiCA). The move is aimed at enhancing regulatory clarity and responding to compliance questions raised by French regulators.
