Investment management firm Invesco Ltd and cryptocurrency-focused firm Galaxy Digital LP have joined the competition for the Solana ETF. Subsidiaries of the two companies filed a registration statement with the Securities Exchange Commission on Wednesday to apply for the "Invesco Galaxy Solana ETF". If approved, the fund will trade on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (Cboe) BZX under the ticker symbol "QSOL", the statement said.
Invesco Capital Management LLC will act as the sponsor and Bank of New York Mellon will act as the manager. Galaxy will be responsible for the acquisition of the tokens. The statement also states that Coinbase Custody Trust Company, LLC will act as the custodian of SOL.
The SEC earlier this month asked the Solana ETF issuer to update its S-1 filing, indicating that approval could come soon.
