The dollar edged higher after Federal Reserve Chairperson Jerome Powell maintained a cautious stance on rate cuts. In testimony before Congress on Tuesday, Powell appeared to pour cold water on the prospect of a rate cut in July, rejecting President Trump's call for a rate cut. Pepperstone strategist Michael Brown said in a note that the Fed may not cut rates until December, and will only cut rates by 25 basis points this year. (Jin Ten)
