According to a U.S. Senate Banking Committee announcement, Senate Banking Committee Chair Tim Scott, Digital Assets Subcommittee Chair Cynthia Lummis, Senator Bill Hagerty, and Senator Tom Tillis today released a set of principles for developing comprehensive market structure legislation that will guide Chair Tim Scott and his colleagues in discussions and negotiations on the text of the bill with industry players, legal and academic experts, and government stakeholders. The Senate Banking Committee stated: The Senate Banking Committee has led new thinking on digital asset regulation and delivered fruitful results for the industry and the American people. We have more work to do and look forward to building on the success of the GENIUSAct Act to advance market structure legislation in the Senate. These principles will form an important cornerstone of negotiations on the bill, with the hope of setting aside politics to provide long-overdue clear guidance for digital asset regulation.
