Aptos Labs partners with Jump Crypto to launch Shelby, the next-generation decentralized hot storage network

Aptos Labs has partnered with Jump Crypto to officially launch Shelby, a high-performance, decentralized hot storage network designed for Web3 real-time applications, covering scenarios such as streaming media, AI data, social platforms and DePIN. Shelby uses a global high-performance node, fiber backbone and on-chain programmable architecture to achieve read and write speed and reliability comparable to Cloud as a Service, breaking the centralization and performance bottleneck of traditional Web2 services, and has sub-second response, volume billing, token gating, DRM, smart contract permission control and dynamic pricing capabilities. Metaplex, StoryProtocol, PipeNetwork and other projects will be the first to connect, and NBCUniversal also plans to use Shelby in streaming scenarios to further validate the potential of its cross-chain real-time infrastructure. The Shelby Developer Testnet (Devnet) is expected to go live in the fourth quarter of 2025 and will support multi-chain ecosystems such as Aptos, Ethereum, and Solana.
