According to Cointelegraph, Kaspersky discovered a new virus called SparkKitty, which specifically infects iOS and Android encryption apps and steals screenshots of mnemonic words in user albums. Affected apps include "coin" on the AppStore and the SOEX messaging app downloaded more than 10,000 times on Google Play.
The virus originated from the same source as the previously discovered Spark Cat and has been active since early 2024, mainly targeting users in South East Asia and China.
