According to Decrypt, Israeli security agencies have arrested a 27-year-old Tel Aviv resident, accusing him of taking photos of militarily sensitive sites for Iran and accepting cryptocurrency as payment.
According to a joint statement by the Israel Security Service and Tel Aviv police, the suspect, Or Beilin, performed several tasks, including photographing sensitive locations and spray-painting political graffiti. Investigations revealed that Iranian agents contacted targets through social media platforms.
Two other Israeli citizens have also been arrested for similar espionage, including Dmitri Cohen, 28, from Haifa, who is accused of gathering intelligence on the fiancée of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's son. The suspects reportedly received $500 worth of cryptocurrency for each mission, accumulating thousands of dollars.
