Canaan Technology plans to produce mining machines in the United States and give up its AI chip business

Canaan Technology, a maker of bitcoin ASICs, has completed pilot production in the US and announced it was abandoning its AI hardware manufacturing efforts in a strategic shift aimed at focusing its efforts. A Canaan representative admitted that while production costs in the US are higher, the company sees "this move not only as a way to hedge tariffs but also as a potential strategic investment in long-term resilience".
