Lagarde: European Union lawmakers should pave way for digital euro

European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde on Monday renewed her call for European lawmakers to pass legislation paving the way for the possible introduction of a digital euro. "A legislative framework should be put in place quickly to pave the way for the possible introduction of a digital euro," Ms Lagarde said. "By making the right policy choices, we can capitalise on the current momentum to boost the economic prospects of Europe and its citizens."
