According to Bloomberg, Morgan Stanley strategist Wilson said that while the US strike on Iran's nuclear facilities dominated the headlines, the sell-off triggered by geopolitical events was usually short-lived. After the US joined Israel in the attack over the weekend, the market reaction was relatively muted, with Brent crude rising as much as 5.7 per cent but giving up most of its gains on Monday. However, Iran may respond to the escalation by disrupting navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, an important shipping route for global oil and gas.
