Thai Network Police Joint Electricity Bureau and other departments recently successfully cracked a fraud case involving cryptocurrency mining business, banned two mining machine rooms in Long Zai Cuo and Ratchapri, and seized 652 mining machines worth 200 million baht (about 5.40 million US dollars). The group stole Thailand's national electricity for 2 months, causing losses of about 5 million baht (about 135,000 US dollars).
The police conducted an in-depth investigation through the tips they received and found that the criminal group sold bitcoin mining machines at a lower than market price, and attracted investors by charging lower than the actual electricity and maintenance fees, making them fall into the scam of investing in cryptocurrency mining businesses, causing great financial losses.
