A North Korea-linked cyber threat actor is targeting job seekers in the cryptocurrency industry with new malicious software designed to steal passwords from cryptocurrency wallets and password managers. Cisco Talos reported on Wednesday that it had discovered a Python-based remote access Trojan (RAT) named "PylangGhost" and linked the malicious software to a North Korean-linked hacking group called "Famous Chollima" (aka "Wagemole").
The hacking group primarily targeted job seekers and employees with experience in cryptocurrency and blockchain, particularly in India, through fake job interview campaigns conducted through social engineering.
