Hypersphere partners suffered a Zoom phishing attack, causing six wallets to be stolen

Mehdi Farooq, a partner at crypto venture capital firm Hypersphere Investments, says six of his wallet funds were stolen and years of savings were lost after a phishing attack on fake Zoom calls. Mehdi Farooq revealed that the attack started with a message on Alex LinTelegram, whom he knows, and that the two had previously interacted, so the contact seemed like a routine, who shared a link to the meeting, joined a scheduled Zoom meeting and found no audio, and ran an update shortly after his system was breached, and the hackers "drained his years of savings" in just a few minutes
