"Cryptocurrencies do not pose a threat to the dollar. In fact, stablecoins can reinforce the dollar's supremacy," said Mr. Bescent, the US Treasury secretary. "Digital assets are one of the most important phenomena in the world today, but have long been ignored by governments. This administration is committed to making the US a hub for digital asset innovation, and the GENIUS Act brings us one step closer to that goal."
