Ripple Labs has filed a supplemental letter in support of its motion seeking an indicative ruling in the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) lawsuit. In a letter to U.S. District Judge Analisa Torres, Ripple further explains why the judge should grant the parties' request for an indicative ruling. The latest filing comes less than a week after the SEC and Ripple refiled their motions seeking Judge Torres' indicative ruling.
To be clear, the parties requested a preliminary ruling from the judge to modify their final judgment, including revoking the permanent injunction on future XRP sales by Ripple and reducing the fine amount to $50 million. Although the judge initially denied the request, the SEC and Ripple jointly refiled the motion for indicative ruling to meet the "exceptional circumstances" standard. Ripple has now filed a supplemental letter in support of the recently filed motion.
