According to Cointelegraph, JPMorgan Chase executives recently met with the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) cryptocurrency task force to discuss the potential far-reaching impact of digital asset regulation and the blockchain of capital markets.
According to an SEC note released on Tuesday, JPMorgan executives spoke with the SEC about "the possible impact of migrating existing capital markets activities to public blockchains" - including the parts of the traditional model that could change and how companies could assess the risks and benefits of those changes.
The two sides also discussed JPMorgan Chase's current business layout in the crypto space, including the bank's existing digital platform, which is currently used to process repurchase agreements (a short-term financial marekt lending vehicle) as part of its "digital financing" and "digital debt servicing" product portfolio.
