The International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland, released the "World Competitiveness Annual Report 2025" on the 17th, and Hong Kong's global competitiveness ranking rose by two more places to the third place in the world, returning to the top three for the first time since 2019. Speaking to the media before attending the Executive Council on the same day, Li Ka-chiu, the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, said that the annual report combines objective data and business opinions and other factors to evaluate the competitiveness of global economies. The annual report shows that Hong Kong's competitiveness has improved significantly. The total score scored 99.2 points out of 100, an increase of 7.7 points, the highest increase among the top ten.
