Will Israel-Hamas cease fire? Israeli media: Israel eases hostage trade conditions

On June 16, according to Israeli media Mako News, Israel submitted a revised proposal during hostage negotiations with Hamas, suggesting that it may open the door to a temporary ceasefire. It is reported that the new proposal is: Hamas releases 8 Israeli hostages on the first day of the ceasefire, and 2 other hostages on the first day of the ceasefire for 20-30 days (previously 10 hostages were released for the first day of the ceasefire, and all hostages were released after the ceasefire for 60 days). Hamas had previously refused to implement the second phase of hostage release after the 60-day ceasefire, because of concerns that Israel may resume operations in the intermediate stage. Israel's new proposal aims to address this concern, although it is not clear whether this will be enough to restart formal negotiations. So far, no Israeli delegation has been sent to Cairo or Doha, suggesting that the agreement is still in the preliminary draft stage. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel confirmed in a Fox News interview on Sunday that "some progress has been made" and said, "The war has been prolonged because of the hostages. I am committed to getting them all out."
