The world's two largest cryptocurrency companies are about to receive licenses to operate across the European Union, while regulators are increasingly divided over the speed and rigor of approvals in some countries.
Under the European Union's new Crypto Asset Market (MiCA) regulation, member states can issue licenses that allow crypto firms to operate within the 27 European Union member states. Gemini is about to get a license from Malta, and Coinbase is about to get approval from Luxembourg.
