The Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) and Ripple have filed their latest filings with the court, asking for a verdict related to the $125 million fine, in a bid to end the nearly five-year legal dispute. In court filings, both sides cite a major shift in the SEC's approach to cryptocurrency regulation.
Previously, the SEC filed a lawsuit against Ripple, accusing it of violating securities laws by selling XRP tokens. As the regulatory environments change, the two sides are now seeking a final resolution to close the far-reaching crypto regulatory case.
